Dental Implants Dental implants are the permanent replacement of missing teeth with artificial teeth attached to metal anchors surgically inserted inside of the jawbone. Once we complete a full clinical examination, a comprehensive treatment plan will be devised.
The procedure is typically performed in the dental office under local anesthesia. It may take up to four to six months for the bone tissue around the implants to grow.
Once the jawbone has healed around the implant, a small attachment is placed on top of the implant. This implants serves as an anchor for the replacement teeth. An impression of this attachment and the mouth is taken and the permanent teeth fabricated. Typically implants are used to anchor crowns, bridges or dentures.
Dental Implants, when used in combination with other restorative and reconstructive procedures, provide our team with the opportunity to develop a variety of treatment plans to address your individual needs.
Endodontics -- Root Canal Therapy This is a procedure performed in order to preserve a tooth in which the pulp of the tooth has been irreversibly damaged. When a tooth is badly decayed or broken the nerve, it can become exposed and infected. Root Canal therapy is the treatment of the diseased nerve and is used to help save the tooth.
Bacteria grows and causes pressure and pain, swelling and sensitivity. Root Canal therapy consists of removing the nerve that lies within the root of the tooth. The dentist will remove the inflamed or infected tissue, will clean and disinfect and shape the root canal space inside of the tooth. A protective restoration should be placed after root canal therapy to protect the tooth.
